ORACLE/ITA PRESEASON RANKINGS
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida will open the 2019 campaign ranked fourth in the Oracle/ITA Preseason Rankings, as announced Wednesday.
With the No. 4 spot, the Gators run their streak to 17 consecutive years of ranking in the top 25 of the Oracle/ITA preseason rankings.
Florida's streak dates back to 2003, when the squad began the year ranked No. 5.
This is also the Gators highest preseason ranking since opening the 2006 season ranked second.
During the 2018 season, UF made it to the Elite Eight, before falling to Texas A&M 3-4. The Gators went 19-10 during the year, including 14 wins over ranked opponents. The Gators were ranked 10th in the year end rankings from 2017-2018. Florida also went 9-3 in SEC play last season and finished third.
During the 2019 season, Florida faces 10 teams who garnered an Oracle/ITA preseason ranking.
The Gators hosts William and Mary, Louisville and FAU for the ITA Kick-off Weekend to begin the season on Jan. 26 and 27. Florida then travels to Orlando to face UCF on Jan. 31 and No. 20 Florida State on Feb. 2.
The SEC leads the poll with seven teams ranked inside the Top 25.
