How it Happened
  • The two squads kept it close throughout the first half of the set, but Florida took the 15-13 lead into the media timeout. After the break, UF continue to build its lead, thanks in part to the hitting performance of Rachael Kramer. Florida continued to hold at least a three-point advantage from that point on, grabbing as much as a six-point lead at the 22-16 mark. Tennessee battled back to within four points at 24-20, but a Thayer Hall kill secured set point and put the Gators up 2-0 in the match.
    • The Gators hit .276 in the second set, led by four kills apiece from Kramer and Hammons. Hall pitched in three of her own in the set as well.
  • Florida fell into an early 5-1 deficit in the third set and was unable to claw its way out entirely. Tennessee's lead grew to five at 19-14, but the Gators battled to pull within three at 19-16. The Lady Vols continued to hold at least a three-point advantage the rest of the way, winning 25-20.
    • Florida hit .163 in the third frame, led by Hall's four kills. Hammons and Carlton both pitched in three kills apiece.
