Florida returns home for the first time in November to face off against LSU
Match Notes
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 11 Florida volleyball team returns home for the first time in the month of November to face the LSU Tigers on Friday evening.
First serve is slated for 7 p.m. on the SEC Network +. This match will serve as Florida's brain cancer awareness match, in honor of Florida's Friends of Jaclyn adoptee, Sophia. Fans are encouraged to wear gray to support the cause.
The Gators are coming off a three-set win over Mississippi State last Sunday, while the Tigers topped then-No. 25 Texas A&M in four-sets in their last contest.
Florida is ranked in the top-3 in two different categories in the SEC: hitting percentage (2nd, .271), opponent hitting efficiency (2nd, .178) and blocks per set (1st, 2.60).
Individually, Thayer Hall is ranked fifth in points per set (4.49), ninth in service aces per set (0.29) and sixth in kills per set (3.87).
Rachael Kramer sits sixth in the league in hitting percentage with a .354 clip.
Marlie Monserez ranks fourth in the conference with 10.25 assists per set, while Allie Gregory is fourth in digs per set, averaging 4.21.
Lauren Dooley is ranked second in third per set, averaging 1.17 and Paige Hammons is also ranked fourth in service aces per set, registering 0.33 through the season thus far.
In conference play, the Gators are ranked second in blocks per set (2.63), third in hitting percentage (.267) and third in opponent hitting percentage (.187). Rachael Kramer is second in the league in hitting percentage (.414).
In the last meeting on Oct. 20, 2019, the Gators won in straight-sets in Baton Rouge, La. (25-20, 25-20, 25-21).
Florida hit .276 in the match, led by 18 kills from Thayer Hall. Holly Carlton posted 12 kills on the afternoon, while Paige Hammons pitched in eight.
Marlie Monserez dished out a team-high 40 assists, averaging 13.33 per set.
Allie Gregory recorded a team-high 18 digs in the match. Monserez also recorded 10 digs for a double-double, while Hall registered nine of her own.
Florida recorded four service aces, compared to just one error. Carlton led the way with two, while Morgyn Greer and Monserez both pitched in one.
