Florida moves up three spots after clinching its 24th SEC Championship on Saturday
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida volleyball team jumped to No. 12 in the AVCA Top-25 Coaches Poll, as the organization announced on Monday.
The Gators went 2-0 last week on their way to the team's 24th SEC Championship. On Sunday, Florida earned its 29th-straight bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Gators were named as the 10th overall seed and will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday and Friday.
Florida topped Arkansas on Wednesday night in straight sets, with Rachael Kramer leading the way with 10 kills.
The Gators followed with an exhilarating five-set win over Texas A&M on Senior Night to secure the squad's 24th SEC Championship.
The first round of the NCAA Tournament will take place on Thursday, with Florida State and UCF facing off at 4:30 p.m. The Gators follow against Alabama State at 7 p.m.
