
Whitner Paces Florida on Final Day of NCAA Zones

AUBURN, Ala. –The University of Florida women's diving team returned to the boards for the second day of the NCAA Zone B Regional held at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center on Wednesday. Emma Whitner led the Gators on the platform for the final day of zones.
Whitner posted a prelim and final combined score of 507.65 and placed ninth overall. Brooke Madden closed the platform competition with a cumulative mark of 444.85 and finished in 14th. Elizabeth Perez accumulated a total of 432.90 and came in 16th.
Whitner led UF with a score of 252.45 and finished in sixth place for the prelims. Perez placed 15th with a mark of 220.55. With a 16th-place total of 220.30, Madden earned a spot in the finals for the third consecutive day. Lauren Snider finished with a score of 207.85 and came in 19th. With a effort of 201.25, Teya Syskakis placed 21st.
The Gators will return to the pool for the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas. The championships begin Wednesday, March 20, and conclude on Saturday, March 23.
