Fourteen Gators Set to Battle at NCAA Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida women's swimming team returns to the pool for the 2019 NCAA Championships. The Gators had 13 swimmers and one diver earn spots into the championship, which begins on Wednesday, March 20.
The four-day championships will be held at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the campus of the University of Texas. The meet begins on Wednesday, March 20 and runs through Saturday, March 23.
Taylor Ault, Emma Ball, Leah Braswell, Hannah Burns, Sherridon Dressel, Savanna Faulconer, Kelly Fertel, Georgia Marris, Vanessa Pearl, and Mabel Zavaros all earned spots in the national championships with their season-best swims.
Brooke Madden qualified for the NCAA Championships for the third-consecutive year. She will compete on the 1- and 3-meter.
Florida will take a copious amount of experience to the championships in Austin. Burns is set to make her fourth appearance at the NCAA Championships, which leads Florida. Ball, Dressel, Faulconer, and Fertel are set to appear in the championships for a third time. Ault will appear for a second time.
Braswell, Marris, Pearl, and Zavaros will be making their first appearances at the national championships.
The Gators also had five relays meet either qualifying or provisional standard times for the NCAA Championships. The 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay, and the 800 Free Relay each posted qualifying times. The 200 and 400 Free Relays each earned a spot based on provisional times.
Tori Bindi, Kelsey Dambacher, and Bella Garofalo will be relay alternates for the championship meet.
