
Gators Lead Field after Day One of SEC Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Florida women's golf team is currently leading the field of 14 teams after the first day of the SEC Championships.
The Gators are currently tied for first place with Auburn, three strokes ahead of the rest of the field, sitting at four-under-par. Sophomore Addie Baggarly led the field for majority of the first nine, getting all the way to six-under-par and ahead of the rest of the field by three strokes before finishing the day with a one-over 73.
Junior Marta Perez ended the first round on a high note, carding a team-best 69 (-3). Freshman Clara Manzalini and sophomore Elin Esborn are not far behind, each carding a one-under 71. Baggarly finished the day T19 with a one-over 73. Junior Sierra Brooks finished the first round at T28 with a 74 (+2) after recovering from her three-over first nine with a one-under second nine.
The second round of stroke play begins first thing Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. (ET). The Gators tee times will begin at 10:40.
