GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 8 Florida defeated No. 14 Arkansas, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon to sweep the three-game series at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

Kelly Barnhill (21-5) picked up where she left off on Friday night and, thanks to a two-run third inning, was able to record her second complete-game win of the series as the Gators (32-9, 6-6 SEC) picked up their first SEC series sweep this season over the Razorbacks (26-14, 6-9 SEC).

Arkansas' offense looked poised to have a good day after the first two innings with a run already in hand, but Barnhill sat down 15 of the final 17 batters en route to the win. The ace recorded eight strikeouts, while allowing one walk, two hits and one run scored over seven innings.

Amanda Lorenz (2-for-3) led the way at the plate for Florida with two hits while driving in two runs. Jaimie Hoover (1-for-3), Hannah Adams (1-for-3) and Jordan Matthews (1-for-3) all contributed with hits.

The Gators looked for a bounce-back series after dropping their last three games heading into Friday, and they got it thanks to hot bats and excellent pitching from Kelly Barnhill and Elizabeth Hightower.
