Florida Ballpark Passes Six Month Mark
Friday, August 16, 2019 | Baseball
Last week, construction at the site of the new Florida Ballpark passed the six month mark.
Athletic Director Scott Stricklin and head coach Kevin O'Sullivan recently paid a visit to the site to check the progress.
In the past six months, foundation work has been completed and most of the steel framework has been erected on the grandstands. The structure will be the primary source of shade for the new stadium, allowing fans to sit comfortably for most home games beginning in 2021.
In addition, the main concourse is starting to get some concrete poured and the walls for the berms have been poured. The concrete frames for both the home and visiting dugouts are also complete. The framework for the batter's eye in center field and the new scoreboard are also in place.
