ORLANDO -- Florida and Miami have kicked off the 150th anniversary season of college football here at Camping World Stadium.
The matchup between the No. 8-ranked Gators and the Hurricanes is the first between the longtime rivals since 2013. They last played in 2013 in Miami Gardens, a game the Hurricanes won 21-16.

1ST QUARTER
Miami 3, Florida 0 (9:37) -- The Hurricanes took the opening kickoff and drove 56 yards on nine plays, capped by a 36-yard field goal by Bubba Baxa to grab an early lead. Tight end Brevin Jordan was Williams' favorite target on the drive, catching three passes for 43 yards.
Florida 7, Miami 3 (7:37) -- The Gators did not trail for long as they drove 79 yards on five plays to score the first touchdown of the college football season. Florida went to its bag of tricks on fourth-and-3 from its 28 when punter Tommy Townsend picked up a first down with a 6-yard run on a fake punt. On the very next play, quarterback Feleipe Franks tossed a screen pass to Kadarius Toney, who then made several Hurricanes miss on the way to a 66-yard touchdown.

NOTES: Gators head coach Dan Mullen announced prior to kickoff that safety Brad Stewart, defensive tackle Tedarrell Slaton, receiver Rick Wells and walk-on defensive back Pat Moorer were suspended for the game for not living up to the "Gator Standard." ... Redshirt sophomore linebacker Ventrell Miller started and recorded a sack on UM's first drive; Miller had one career sack entering the game. ... Hurricanes redshirt freshman quarterback Jarren Williams was 5-for-5 for 61 yards on his opening series as the Canes' starter.
2ND QUARTER
Florida 7, Miami 6 (8:26) -- The Hurricanes took advantage of Florida's second lost fumble of the quarter and converted it into a 42-yard field goal by Baxa, his second field goal of the first half. Franks pitched the ball to running back Malik Davis, who was unable to catch the toss as the ball dropped to the turf. Davis temporarily appeared to have control of the ball with this knees down when the ball was jarred loose from a hit by a Miami defensive player. Linebacker Shaq Quarterman recovered the fumble and five plays later, the Hurricanes cashed in on Baxa's kick.
Miami 13, Florida 7 (0:45) -- Miami regained the lead by driving 90 yards on 12 plays, taking more than six minutes off the clock. Williams hit Jordan for a 25-yard scoring pass to cap the drive. On the go-ahead touchdown throw, Gators defensive lineman Jonathan Greenard tipped the ball at the line of scrimmage, but the fall dropped perfectly into Jordan's hands. He then broke from a tackle attempt by UF safety Jeawon Taylor inside the 5-yard line to scamper into the end zone.

NOTES: On first-and-goal at Miami's 7-yard line early in the quarter, Franks fumbled on a handoff to tailback Lamical Perine for Gators' first turnover of the season ... Williams hit 12 of 14 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown in the first half ... Franks connected on 7 of 9 for 104 yards and a score ... Miami outgained the Gators 200-144 in the first half ... UF's Miller finished the first half with a game-high six tackles and two sacks.
3RD QUARTER
Miami 13, Florida 10 (6:30) -- On their second drive of the second half, the Gators took over at Miami's 42 and took advantage of a short field. Evan McPherson kicked a 27-yard field goal to cap a nine-play, 33-yard drive that took 3:25 off the clock. Florida kept the drive alive on fourth-and-5 from Miami's 37 when Franks hit receiver Trevon Grimes for a 10-yard gain, marking the fourth time in four attempts the Gators converted on fourth down.
Florida 17, Miami 13 (0:30) -- The Gators finally got a turnover to go their way when Hurricanes receiver Jeff Thomas muffed a punt by Townsend and Gators receiver Van Jefferson recovered the ball at Miami's 11-yard line. Three plays later, Franks hit Perine on a crossing pattern for an 8-yard touchdown to put the Gators back up.

NOTES: Florida owns an advantage in total yards (227-208) through three quarters. ... Franks is 14 of 22 for 177 yards and two touchdowns. ... Florida had 83 yards of offense in the quarter to just eight for the Hurricanes. ... Franks hit 7 of 13 passes for 73 yards and a TD in the quarter.
4TH QUARTER
Miami 20, Florida 17 (14:15) -- The Gators' lead was short-lived this time as Miami running back DeeJay Dallas broke off a 50-yard scoring run to put the Hurricanes back in the lead in the game's fourth lead change. Dallas took a snap from the wildcat position and broke several tackles to scamper down the UF sideline for the score.

Florida 24, Miami 20 (8:18) -- The lead has changed hands once again, this the fifth time in the game. The Gators responded to a missed field goal by Baxa by driving 80 yards on four plays, highlighted by a 65-yard pass from Franks to Josh Hammond. Franks capped the drive with a 3-yard touchdown run.
