Named a U.S. Army All-Americanβ¦ Following his senior season at Boone High School, he was named First Team All-America (Scout.com), All-State (Statewide Sports Writers & FHSCA), All-Central Florida (Orlando Sentinel) and All-District (FHSCA)β¦ Played in the 2014 Central Florida All-Star Gameβ¦ Garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors from the Orlando Touchdown Club following a two interception performance against Edgewater High School in 2014β¦ Averaged 43.0 yards per punt as a seniorβ¦ Rated as the No. 1 punter in the country coming out of high school by Kohlβs Kicking and Chris Sailor Kickingβ¦ Also played cornerback and quarterback in high school and played baseball for Booneβ¦ Is an Eagle Scoutβ¦ Both parents, Clay and Susan Townsend, both attended Floridaβ¦ Brother, Johnny also attended UF and holds multiple school records as a punter (2013-17)β¦ Chose Florida over Baylor and Colorado.
