PRIOR TO FLORIDA: As a senior at GHS, Matthews completed 196 out of 281 passes on the season for 2,639 yards and 22 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions... Son of former Gators QB Shane Matthews who finished his UF career with 9,287 passing yards and ranked fifth in program history with 74 passing touchdowns.
