SEC Announces 2020 Men's Basketball Conference Slate
Tuesday, September 10, 2019 | Men's Basketball
The Southeastern Conference announced the 2020 men's basketball conference slate on Tuesday, with the Gators' schedule including annual series vs. Georgia, Kentucky and Vanderbilt and rotational series vs. LSU and Ole Miss.
Home games bookend the SEC schedule as the Gators tip off in Gainesville vs. Alabama on Jan. 4 and wrap the regular season against Kentucky on March 7. After the opener, January includes visits to South Carolina, Missouri and LSU and home dates vs. Ole Miss, Auburn and Mississippi State, in addition to the previously announced SEC/Big 12 game vs. Baylor on Jan. 25.
February takes the Gators to Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Kentucky and Tennessee, while UF hosts Georgia, Vanderbilt, Arkansas and LSU. Florida plays its final road game of the season at Georgia on March 4 before the regular season finale vs. the Wildcats.
Florida fans experience one of the nation's most entertaining schedules every season and will see the Gators compete against 2019 NCAA Tournament teams at least 12 times in the regular season overall, including seven contests at Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
The Gators have played a top-20 rated schedule (via KenPom) all four seasons under head coach Mike White and are poised to do so again in 2019-20.
Florida returns a trio of experienced young starters this season in Keyontae Johnson, Noah Locke and Andrew Nembhard, who are joined by a top-10 freshman class and the nation's most sought-after graduate transfer in Kerry Blackshear Jr. The Gators are one of 10 teams nationally to record at least one NCAA Tournament win each of the past three seasons.
