Three goals in two matches gives Vanessa Kara the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week award.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The first three goals of her Gator career earns Vanessa Kara the Southeastern Conference Offensive Soccer Player of the Week award.
She is the second Gator to claim the SEC Offensive Player of the Week honor, as junior Deanne Rose claimed the season's first award.
Other weekly SEC winners include a pair from Arkansas' - Haley VanFossen (Defensive) and Anna Podojil (Freshman).

Kara joined the Gators this season after graduating with her civil engineering degree from Drexel. At Drexel, Kara was a three-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection. She was the 2015 CAA Rookie of the Year after setting Drexel's single season records for goals (11) and points (25). A knee injury forced Kara to redshirt the 2018 campaign.

Southeastern Conference play begins Thursday with the Gators traveling to Baton Rouge, La., to face 2018 SEC Tournament champion LSU (2-4-1, 0-0-0 SEC). The match begins at 8 p.m. ET at the LSU Soccer Stadium and admission is free.
