
Gators Head to Minnesota for Top-10 Showdown

Seventh-ranked Florida set to face off against No. 8 Minnesota
Match Notes
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The No. 7 volleyball team continues its non-conference schedule with a Top-10 matchup against No. 8 Minnesota.
First serve is slated for 8 p.m. EST on the Big Ten Network+ at Maturi Pavilion.
Both the Gators and the Golden Gophers dropped their most recent matchups – Florida fell 3-0 to No. 1 Stanford, while Minnesota dropped a 3-0 contest to No. 3 Texas.
The last time these two squads met was in the 2006 Regional Semifinal, where Minnesota won 3-1 (23-30, 30-25, 21-30, 26-30).
Kiysa Killingsworth led the offense for Florida, finishing the match with 16 kills. Marcie Hampton added 13, while Kelsey Bowers pitched in 10.
Florida trails 1-3 in the overall series, including a 1-2 record under Mary Wise, and the Gators are 0-1 in Minneapolis, Minn.
Among the Elite.
Florida sits third all-time in program wins since 1984 with 1,008. That trails only Penn State and Nebraska for the most in the nation.
SEC Players of the Week
After going 2-0 at the Cardinal Classic, three Gators earned SEC Player of the Week honors. Thayer Hall was named both Offensive Player of the Week, as well as overall Player of the Week. Rachael Kramer earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Marlie Monserez picked up her first SEC honor, being named Setter of the Week.
It is just the second time in program history that three Gators have won the award in the same week. The previous time came on Nov. 4, 2013 when Alex Holston (Freshman), Chloe Mann (Offensive) and Taylor Unroe (Defensive) earned the honors.
