No. 8 Gators Begin Season at Cougar Classic

The No. 8 Florida women’s golf team opens its fall slate on Monday at the College of Charleston’s Cougar Classic.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The No. 8 Florida women's golf team opens its fall slate on Monday at the College of Charleston's Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C.
Due to hurricane Dorian, the event has been shortened from three days to two days. Teams will complete 36 holes of continuous play on Monday, Sept. 9 and 18 holes in the final round on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Format: The teams will play 72 holes of stroke play over two days of competition. The first and second rounds will take place on Monday, Sept. 9 with a shotgun start beginning at 8:45 a.m. ET. The final round of the event is set to begin at 9 a.m. PT on Tuesday, Sept. 10 and will also be shotgun format.
Course Information: The tournament is being played on the Par 72, 6,261 yards Yeamans Hall Club course in Charleston, S.C.

Tournament History: Last season the Gators finished first at the Cougar Classic after a phenomenal team performance, shooting 30-under 546. Senior Sierra Brooks also captured the individual title after carding a record-breaking 62 in the second round to finish at 17 under.
Overall, head coach Emily Glaser has led the Gators to three titles in Charleston. This will be the Gators' sixth appearance at the event under Glaser.
Coming Up: The Gators travel to Toledo, Ohio for the Glass City Invitational beginning Monday, Sept. 16.
