GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Another week, another preseason ranking. This time around, the University of Florida baseball team is not only a top-15 team, but a top-5 team, according to D1Baseball's Preseason Top 25 which was released earlier this week.

D1Baseball began rankings prior to the 2015 season and the Gators have ranked in the top six each year during the preseason (2019 - No. 6; 2018 - No. 1; 2017 - No. 2; 2016 - No. 1; 2015 - No. 2). Eight other Southeastern Conference programs joined Florida in the ranking -- five of which are with the Gators in the top 10.
 
Eight of Florida's 2020 opponents are ranked as well, including five of the top eight teams: at No. 3 Miami (Feb. 21-23), No. 5 Georgia (March 13-15), at No. 7 Arkansas (April 2-4), at No. 8 Auburn (May 1-3), and No. 2 Vanderbilt (May 7-9). Other ranked opponents traveling to Gainesville this year are: No. 12 Florida State (March 10), No. 20 Texas A&M (March 27-29), and No. 25 Ole Miss (April 24-26).

D1Baseball also put together breakdowns of each team ranked in its preseason top 25, and the Gators rated highly in hitting (65 of 80), power (70 of 80), and the bullpen (70 of 80). Follow this link to read the complete breakdown.

Florida opens the 2020 season Feb. 14 against Marshall at McKethan Stadium. Season tickets and Flex Passes for 2020 Gators Baseball and the final season at McKethan Stadium are on sale now and can be purchased online through FloridaGators.com or by calling the Gator Ticket Office at 1-800-34-GATOR from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
