Invite Notes | Auburn Spectator Policy
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida men's swimming and diving will compete in the Auburn Fall Invitational over the next three days in their mid-season invitational against the Auburn Tigers.
No. 3 Florida (0-1) and No. 22 Auburn will hit the water in the 42-event, championship-style meet that consists of prelim, diving and final sessions each of the three days at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center, the site where Florida won its eighth-straight and 41st overall Southeastern Conference title this past February. The top-18 prelim swims or scores will move on to A, B and C evening finals, with only the A and B heats being scored. The only exceptions will be relays, the 1,650 free and platform diving, as no additional heats of those events will take place.
Gators swimmers and divers will be able to compete in four individual events, as well as an unlimited number of relays over the course of the invitational.
Live results for all three days can be found here, as well as the MeetMobile app.
Last week, 15 current Gators swimmers traveled to Sarasota for the 2020 U.S. Open. Over the three days of LCM racing, Florida reeled in eight medals, including U.S. Open titles by Smith (200 and 400 free) and Finke (1,500 free), and posted 20 U.S. Olympic trial cuts.
In their opening dual meet with Georgia, Florida would claim four events and post five B-Cuts, including two in the 500 free by Trey Freeman and Alfonso Mestre. In his first competition in over a year, Freeman would notch another cut in the 200 free.
Looking Ahead
The invitational will mark the conclusion of the swimming portion of Florida's fall schedule. After a short break, Florida men's and women's divers will head south to compete in the Miami Diving Invitational on Dec. 2-4 to wrap up all competition in 2020.
The Gators will be back in action on Jan. 9 in a home dual with SEC foe Texas A&M. The program will heading right back to Auburn for their season finale on Jan. 23 in a dual meet with the Tigers.
