Gators Runners Post Impressive Times in Arkansas
Saturday, February 1, 2020 | Track and Field
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Florida runners closed out the weekend at the two-day Razorback Invitational in Arkansas with times that rank high in both the Division I Indoor Qualifying list and in Gators history.
Senior sprinter Raymond Ekevwo dropped jaws after clocking an impressive, new personal-best time of 6.53 seconds in the men's 60 meters finals.
The Nigeria native established himself as the NCAA leader in that event while moving from the No. 7 to No. 3 spot in UF's All-Time Top 10 list.
On the women's side, Taylor Manson also shined Saturday afternoon. The junior sprinter crossed in 52.59 seconds during the women's 400 meters (invitational), landing at the No. 3 spot in Division I.
Manson's time, which is her new indoor personal best, also earned her a spot in the school's All-Time Top-10 list. Manson now ranks 10th in Gators history.
In the hurdles, newcomer Grace Stark logged an 8.16-seconds time to move from the No. 5 to the No. 2 spot in the Gators All-Time Top 10 list. Stark's time also ranks tied for eighth in the country.
Florida's women's 4x400 relay squad, headlined by Manson, junior Nikki Stephens, freshman Semira Killebrew and Anderson lit up the afternoon with a 3:33.31 time that ranks second in the NCAA.
The men's 4x400 relay also featured a nationally high-ranked performance by the Gators. Redshirt junior Denzel Villaman and Junior Cory Poole, alongside freshmen Joseph Fahnbulleh and Jacob Miley, formed the 4x400 squad that clocked a time of 3:08.07. The time ranks fifth in Division I.
Florida Track & Field will return to action Feb. 14 when the Gators travel to Clemson for this year's Tiger Paw Invitational.
