GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 7 Florida is scheduled to play nine games in the next nine days at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium and it starts Tuesday afternoon at 6 p.m. with an exhibition contest against the USA Softball Women's National Team (WNT). The game can be watched online on SEC Network + with Kyle Crooks and Francesca Enea in the booth on the call.
The program will welcome back former standouts Michelle Moultrie, Aubree Munro and Kelsey Stewart to Gainesville. The trio will have the chance to play on the same dirt they once competed on as Gators in front of the fans that cheered them on to numerous SEC and National Championships.
In October, the trio was selected as a part of the 15-player roster that will compete for Olympic gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics this summer. The group will also be the first to represent the program at an Olympics.
The Gators opened their 2020 season last weekend at the USF-Rawlings Invitational and compiled a 4-1 record through the five game stretch, while the WNT started its "Stand Beside Her Tour" presented by Major League Baseball (MLB) in Tampa against USF and recently competed in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Fla.
This will be the first time that Florida and Team USA will meet in an exhibition.
Trlicek Hurls No-Hitter During Opening Weekend
Trlicek's no-hitter was the first thrown by a freshman since Kelly Barnhill blanked Arkansas May 8, 2016 and is only fourth freshman to throw a no-hitter in program history.
Gators Tie Opening Weekend Single-Game Home Run Record
Florida's four home runs against Georgia State tied the opening weekend single-game record. Senior Jordan Roberts belted a single-game career-high two homers in the run-rule victory, while senior Jade Caraway and freshman Baylee Goddard each notched their first as Gators. Roberts leads the team with three on the season so far.
Echols Pacing Gators Offensively
The first 500 fans tomorrow will receive a rally towel for the game and all fans will have a chance to win a Florida softball jersey, t-shirt, a signed softball and airpods.
There will also be an autograph signing session at the conclusion of the game by Team USA.
