Gators Rise to No. 1 Ahead of Midweek Trip to Stetson

Florida is No. 1 for the first time since 2018, and it hits the road for a midweek game ahead of hosting a three-game series this weekend.
GAINESVILLE, Fla.- Following a sweep of in-state rival Miami this weekend, Florida rose to the top of the latest D1Baseball.com rankings, and its first game as the nation's No. 1 team will be at Stetson Wednesday. The home game against Florida A&M scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed.

First pitch in DeLand will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, with ESPN+ providing live streaming.

The Gators are off to their first 8-0 start in head coach Kevin O'Sullivan's 13 seasons. It is also the fifth such start in school history. The 1989 and 2002 Gators hold the school record for consecutive wins to open a season (11), while the 1956 Gators won their first 10 games, and the 1992 Gators won their first eight.

Florida is also among the nation's top offenses at the moment, with its 85 hits ranking tied for 10th nationally, and its 8.1 runs per game being tied for 22nd nationally.
