GAINESVILLE, Fla. – It's like an old friend you haven't seen in forever and realize how much you missed. College football is back.
Well, at least in some parts of the country.
Fortunately for Gators fans, the Southeastern Conference is one of the Power 5 leagues that scheduled a fall season and Florida opens at Ole Miss two weeks from Saturday. If you channel surfed Thursday night, wasn't it a nice change of pace to see both college football and the NFL on your big screen?
Miami beat UAB in its season opener and the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs beat up Houston at Arrowhead Stadium. In that one, former Gators receiver Demarcus Robinson (three receptions, 20 yards) and rookie punter Tommy Townsend (three punts, 45.3-yard average) played for Kansas City, and ex-UF cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III had four tackles for the Texans.
With the reality of a college football season upon us, check out FloridaGators.com for regular updates and exclusive content. I'll also restart posting link blogs that feature some of the latest stories from around the internet of interest to Gators fans.
