Finished his career with 4,162 yards on 93 punts (44.8 avg.) … Holds the school record for most yards by a punter in a single game (432 yds., 9 punts) and the seventh-longest punt (71 yds.). 2019: Totaled 1,847 yards on 42 punts, averaging 44.0 yards per kick… Recorded 11 punts of over 50 yards and downed 20 inside the 20-yard line… Against Missouri, he matched his career-long 71-yard punt, which remains the seventh-longest punt in program history, and recorded a season-high 366 yards on eight punts… Was named to the Preseason Second Team All-SEC… Named the “Ray’s 8” Punter of the Week (South Carolina)… Was a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award… 2018: Finished the season averaging 45.4 yards as he totaled 2,315 yards on 51 punts... Booted 14 punts of over 50 yards and registered 24 punts inside of the 20-yard line… Against LSU, he recorded a career-long 71- yard punt, which was the seventh-longest punt in Florida football history… Recorded an 18-yard gain on a fake punt in Florida’s comeback win over Vanderbilt… Named Second Team All-SEC by Athlon Sports and was a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award… Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll… 2017: Did not see any game action… 2016: Sat out the season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Transferred from Tennessee in the summer of 2016 after redshirting as a freshman at UT... Brother of Gators punter Johnny Townsend... Named a U.S. Army All-American… Following his senior season at Boone High School, he was named First Team All-America (Scout.com), All-State (Statewide Sports Writers & FHSCA), All-Central Florida (Orlando Sentinel) and All-District (FHSCA)… Played in the 2014 Central Florida All-Star Game… Garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors from the Orlando Touchdown Club following a two interception performance against Edgewater High School in 2014… Averaged 43.0 yards per punt as a senior… Rated as the No. 1 punter in the country coming out of high school by Kohl’s Kicking and Chris Sailor Kicking… Also played cornerback and quarterback in high school and played baseball for Boone… Is an Eagle Scout… Both parents, Clay and Susan Townsend, both attended Florida… Brother, Johnny also attended UF and holds multiple school records as a punter (2013-17)… Chose Florida over Baylor and Colorado.
