AUBURN, Ala. – Florida soccer lost 2-0 at No. 23 Auburn Sunday afternoon at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
Today's result has the Gators tied for ninth in the overall Southeastern Conference standings. The top 10 teams advance to the SEC Tournament, which begins on Halloween in Orange Beach, Ala.

After a scoreless opening half, the Tigers took the lead in the 52nd minute off a score from SEC goals leader Marissa Arias. Anna Haddock touched the ball out to Arias off a throw in. Arias drove toward goal, scoring on a right-footed shot from 18 yards.
The Tigers added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute. Anna Haddock drove endline and took an angled shot from eight yards. Sydney Richards put in the deflection to put Auburn up 2-0.
Auburn looked for its third goal in the 79th minute when Maddie Simpson took a 10-yard shot. Gator goalkeeper Alexa Goldberg got a hand on it to tip the ball up to hit the crossbar for her ninth save of the afternoon.
