Gators Close Out Fall at The Ally

FLORIDA IN THE RANKINGS
The Gators are ranked 6th in the WGCA Coaches Poll, 7th in Golfstat and 8th in Golfweek.
LAST TIME OUT
Newcomer Jackie Lucena led the Gators at the Windy City Classic as she finished as runner up, only one stroke behind the champion - Rose Zhang (Stanford). She turned in her second round under par (-1) in round three as she started the day with a birdie on 10 to end the weekend with 13 total. The outing marked her best performance as a Gator and top finish on the team this fall.
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The outing will mark back-to-back appearances for UF in the tournament that started off in 2017. Florida took 6th last year as Annabell Fuller finished 9th and Marina Escobar and Maisie Filler tied for 16th.
PRESEASON RANKINGS AND RECOGNITION
The Gators were selected in two preseason polls - #19 by the GolfChannel.com and #21 by the Women's Golf Coaches Association. Additionally Annabell Fuller was ranked as the No. 23 preseason player by GolfChanel.com and was selected to the ANNIKA Award Watch List for the second straight season.
The next three in the lineup - Marina Escobar, Maisie Filler and Annabell Fuller - all placed just outside the top-25 at T27. Making her season debut, Jenny Kim ended T22 to place second overall among individuals.
A SEASON AGO
The Gators qualified for their 21st consecutive and 26th overall NCAA Regional appearance and just missed the top-6 cut, finishing one stroke behind USC in 7th. A member of the SEC All-Freshman Team, Maisie Filler led the way with a T12 finish.
Outside of postseason play, Florida defended it's home course and claimed the sixth straight title at the Gators Invitational. Annabell Fuller turned in a career performance winning her first individual title behind her lowest round (66, -5) and tournament overall (202, -5). Marina Escobar (T12), Clara Manzalini (T12) and Jenny Kim (T15) all placed in the Top-25.
THE TURN:
The Orange and Blue enter the offseason and begin the spring at the FAU Paradise Invitational on Feb. 7-8.
