Meet the Gators: Fisher Jameson
Tuesday, November 30, 2021 | Baseball
The next featured member of the Orange in Blue in Florida's 2021 Meet the Gators series is freshman right-handed pitcher Fisher Jameson, who hails from Park Vista Community High School in Lake Worth, Fla. During his first season in Gainesville, Jameson will wear No. 27 for the Gators.
Recently ranked as the No. 1 recruiting class in the country by Perfect Game, Florida's 2021 incoming class features 16 freshmen and one four-year college transfer. Jameson helped bolster that ranking, coming in as the No. 196 player nationally on top of holding status as the No. 27 overall recruit and No. 7 right-handed pitcher in the state.
In his first taste of action in a Florida uniform this past fall, Jameson looked sharp on the hill. Pitching in game two of the team's Oct. 23 doubleheader vs. Georgia Southern, Jameson tossed a scoreless inning of relief with one strikeout to earn the victory as the Gators prevailed, 7-6.
Going back to his standout high school career, Jameson was a two-time letterwinner in baseball under head coach Larry Greenstein at Park Vista. Across his junior and senior seasons, Jameson helped power the Cobras to a combined 30-6 record while going 7-1 on the mound individually.
From 2020-21, the right-hander pitched 53.1 innings with a 1.05 ERA and 83 strikeouts, translating to 14.0 strikeouts per nine innings. Opposing hitters batted just .159 against Jameson, who gave up a mere 29 hits to the 186 batters he faced over the course of his career.
In his final prep season, Jameson was particularly excellent. He dominated to the tune of a 0.89 ERA while striking out 72 hitters over 47.1 frames, which earned him Palm Beach County 2021 7A-11 Pitcher of the Year honors. That represented just one of many accolades for Jameson, who was named a Preseason All-American by Perfect Game on three-separate occasions.
Jameson also laced up the spikes for Florida Travel Baseball from 2017-20 and Scorpions Baseball in 2020. Collectively, he was tabbed to seven different all-tournament teams and five showcase top prospect teams across his participation with those squads.
As the son of Wendy and Michael Jameson, Fisher has one older sister, Riley. He intends to major in health science at the University of Florida.
