The Gators are currently in sole possession of ninth.
ATHENS, Ga. – The Florida women's golf team is in ninth place at the conclusion of the second round at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic.
Saturday featured difficult course conditions which presented a unique challenge to the competition. In a stacked field that includes six top-15 teams, only No. 1 South Carolina finished the day under par.
Jenny Kim shined for the Gators, posting a 2-over par 74 to jump 31 spots individually on the leaderboard. After recording four bogeys and only one birdie on the front nine, Kim set her sights on the turn. She added three birdies to her scorecard, including the challenging par-5 12th hole that 20 other golfers scored above par.
Marina Escobar followed in Kim's footsteps, recording a 4-over 76 on the day. She currently leads the Gators individually with a 5-over par overall score and sits in a tie for 27th place.
Lauren Waidner sits one stroke behind Escobar on the leaderboard. The senior struggled on the front-nine, but found her footing at the turn. She recorded two birdies in the last eight holes to finish 5-over par and in position to move up individually tomorrow.
Maisie Filler and Elin Esborn rounded out the Gators lineup.
Florida will head back out on the course at 8:35 a.m. ET for the final round of competition.
