Limited Edition 9/11 Tribute Helmets Available for Purchase

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – As the Florida football team pays tribute Saturday to first responders and those who lost their lives during the 9/11 terrorist attacks 20 years ago by wearing white helmets featuring a red, white and blue-script Gators logo, fans will also have the opportunity to support our local heroes.
The University Athletic Association will sell a limited amount of 200 replica helmets with all proceeds benefiting the Grit Foundation, a local non-profit organization that supports first responders in Alachua County and neighboring communities.
The limited edition 9/11 tribute helmet is now available for purchase on the Gators Marketplace.
The Grit Foundation's mission is to generate community-based support for local first responders and hometown heroes, and it serves as the official charity for 14 local public safety agencies, including Alachua County Fire Rescue.
The Gators will take on the USF Bulls inside Raymond James Stadium Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. on ABC.
