Carter's Corner: RB Johnson Reunites With Napier, More Gators Tidbits

Florida officially added sophomore running back Montrell Johnson, a transfer who played for Napier at Louisiana-Lafayette last season. Johnson rushed for 838 yards and 12 touchdowns, averaging 5.2 yards per carry for the Ragin' Cajuns. He joins a Gators running back room that features Nay'Quan Wright, Demarkcus Bowman and Lorenzo Lingard.

Coming out of De La Salle High in New Orleans, Johnson received offers from Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Virginia among others. With the departures of Dameon Pierce and Malik Davis, Johnson joins Wright as the two most-experienced backs on the roster. Bowman and Lingard are highly touted transfers who have played primarily on special teams during their time at UF.
