
No. 3/11 Florida Treks to Georgia for First Invite

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Following a 4-1 start for the women and a 3-1 start for the men, the Florida men's and women's swimming and diving team will hit the road from Nov. 17-19 to compete in the first invite of the season. The Georgia Invite will take place at the Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Georgia. The Gators will be joined by No. 19/21 Auburn, No. 21/NR Florida State, Georgia Tech and site host No. 7/15 Georgia.
For all three days of the invite, the preliminary session will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the finals at 5:30 p.m. Results will be available on the Georgia athletic website (GeorgiaDogs.com) and on the MeetMobile app. Diving results will be available on DiveMeets.com. Each swimming and diving session will be streamed on SEC Network+.
The Gators are coming off a sweep of SEC foe and No. 13/7 Tennessee back on Nov. 5. Florida women posted its second consecutive ranked win over a conference opponent with a 204.0-96.0 win, while the men secured a 171.5-128.5 victory for its first conference win of the year.
Florida split against Georgia back on Oct. 28, with the women claiming a 173.5-126.5 win and the men getting edged out 156-144.
On Nov. 8, Alfonso Mestre was named SEC Men's Swimmer of the Week, Joshua Liendo was tabbed SEC Freshman of the Week, and Skip Donald earned SEC Men's Co-Diver of the Week. It was the fourth time this season that the Gators have won three weekly conference awards this season.
