LAS VEGAS - Fred Biondi continues to dominate the spring as he is tied for first at the Southern Highlands Collegiate. The Florida men's golf team shot 285 (-3) in round two on Monday and trials 10 strokes off the lead heading into the final round.
Biondi notched his fifth straight round in the 60s with a 69 (-3). The streak started in round one of the VyStar Gators Invitational with a career-low 63 (-7), which also tied the tournament record. He began the day going 3-under on the front with birdies on one, four and six.
Also shooting back-to-back rounds under par, Yuxin Lin put together a 2-under performance. He sank three consecutive birdies on the back nine to slide into the top-25 at T22.
Three Gators - Ricky Castillo (T17), Quentin Debove (T40) and John DuBois (T52) - all shot 73s(+1) on the day to conclude the lineup. Giovanni Manzoni is tied with DuBois in 52nd as well.
Florida is in the final group tomorrow with No. 1 Oklahoma (-28) and No. 15 (Texas (-19). DuBois will get round three started for the Gators at 1:40 p.m. ET at Southern Highlands Golf Club.
