Four Gators finished in the top-25 as UF posted its fifth consecutive top-5 finish.
EATONTON, Ga. - The Florida men's golf team took third as four Gators finished in the top-25 at the Linger Longer Invitational on Tuesday.
UF shot 14-under for the tournament, tied for the third lowest under-par score of the season.
The finish also marked the Gators' fifth consecutive top-5 finish this year, which last occurred in the 2017-18 season.
Ricky Castillo (T25) cut a stroke off yesterday and posted a 2-under 70 round. He bounced back after four bogeys on the front with a clean back nine. He sank three consecutive birdies that cut the deficit to seven strokes, but Georgia held on to take the team title.
The 18th hole proved to be special again for Florida as they experienced the second straight day with an eagle to close out a round, this time from Yuxin Lin. The junior turned in a 71 (-1) to finish T9 at 5-under for the invite.
Tied for seventh, Fred Biondi ended 6-under at Great Waters Golf Club as John DuBois tied for 19th at -2 overall. Quentin Debove placed right outside the top-25 at T34 and Joe Pagdin concluded his outing tied for 53rd.
Florida wraps up the regular season at the Calusa Cup in Naples from April 3-5 and then heads to the SEC Championships (April 20-24) at St. Simons Island.

On the team's performance...
"First, we have to thank Mercer and Kennesaw State for hosting at Reynolds Lake O'Conee. Couldn't ask for a better venue."
"Overall, we are very proud of our guys. We played a bit sloppy at times this week, but part of learning how to be a great team is learning how to put up a solid tournament when you don't have your best stuff. Our guys are learning how to recognize when they don't feel comfortable and not let their egos dictate what type of shot they choose. That's a real sign of growth.
"We beat a ton of great teams this week and have been rock solid all spring, but the margins are thin to win any tournament on our schedule. Back to work this week so we can be as prepared as possible for Calusa Pines in early April. "
