BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Jasmine Moore (Women's Field Athlete of the Week) and the Florida Men's 4x400 relay team (Men's Co-Runner of the Week) were awarded SEC Weekly Honors following a weekend full of outstanding performances.
An NCAA-leading mark of 14.07m/46-2 in the Triple Jump was enough to give Moore her second SEC Weekly Honor of the season.
She joins teammate Natricia Hooper as the only two women's triple jumpers in the NCAA this year to eclipse 14 meters. The pair have done it both indoors and outdoors.
Moore was the NCAA and SEC Indoor Champion in the Triple Jump as well as the Long Jump. She sits first collegiately in the Triple Jump in the outdoor season and is fourth collegiately in the Long Jump.
The Florida men's 4x400 relay team capped off an impressive weekend at the Tom Jones Memorial with the fastest 4x400 relay in collegiate history.
Before their race, no collegiate team had ever run under 2:59.00 in the 4x400 relay.
The team of Jacory Patterson, Ryan Willie, Jacob Miley and Champion Allison carried the baton in 2:58.53, setting the collegiate lead and collegiate record in the process.
Their collegiate record means the Gators now hold the best times in NCAA history in both the 4x100 relay (37.97) and 4x400 relay (2:58.53).
Florida will get this weekend off before closing out the regular season at the end of the month with a split weekend between the LSU Invitational and North Florida Invitational.
