Gators Represent at SEC Student-Athlete Leadership Council

Faith Dut, Kinsey Goelz, Ashley Klingenberg, Kowaice Reeves and Trent Whittemore were in all attendance as representatives for the University of Florida.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A group of six Gators represented the University of Florida in attendance of the annual SEC Student-Athlete Leadership Council at the SEC offices last weekend.
Composed of Faith Dut (women's basketball), Kinsey Goelz (softball), Ashley Klingenberg (women's cross country), Kowacie Reeves (men's basketball) and Trent Whittemore (football), the group helped lead collaborative efforts on enhancing the student-athlete experience with their fellow peers from all 14 SEC universities.
Attendees included representatives from each school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Football Leadership Council and the Men's and Women's Basketball Leadership Council.
Sixty-five SEC student-athletes attended the two-day meeting featured a a leadership presentation from Clay Scroggins and participation in a mental heath discussion with Nafis Ricks. The student-athletes were updated on the NCAA Division I SAAC and discussed programming on SEC campuses. The agenda also included a conversation with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey and updates on the SEC Council on Racial Equity and Social Justice and SEC and NCAA legislative items.
