GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida saw 79 student-athletes named to the 2021-22 Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll by league commissioner Greg Sankey. Grades from the 2021-22 academic year determine the 2022 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
Today's announcement brings Florida's total of student-athletes named to a 2021-22 SEC Academic Honor Roll to 378 – equaling the record set in 2020-21. Florida placed 299 on SEC Academic Honor Rolls (110 on fall list; 65 winter, 124 on spring) and 79 on the First-Year Honor Roll.
2022 NCAA champions Anna Hall (pentathlon & heptathlon) and Jasmine Moore (indoor & outdoor long and triple jump) earned spots on SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. Moore was named the SEC (Indoor & Outdoor) and U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor Field Athlete of the Year. Hall is the 2022 USTFCCCA Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and among the three finalists for The Bowerman.
2022 American Athletic Conference Lacrosse Freshman of the Year Emma LoPinto and SEC Diver of the Year Maha Amer earned berths on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. They are among nine Gators who earned both SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll status and 2022 All-America accolades.
Five earned 4.0 grade point averages in their first year at UF - Alicia Dudeney (tennis), Jess Edwards (track & field), Riley McCusker (gymnastics), Mark Porter (track & field) and Bente Spee (tennis).
