Gator Kayla DiCello adds another gold medal – this time Pan American Games all-around gold.
 
Yesterday, DiCello helped the U.S. win its sixth consecutive Pan American Games team gold at the National Stadium Sports Park in Santiago, Chile.
 
DiCello is the first U.S. Pan Am Games all-around gold medalist since Bridgette Caquatto (Gator All-American; competing 2013-16) won in 2011.  U.S. Gymnastics Pan American Games results
 
Brazil's Flavia Saraiva took silver and U.S. Jordan Chiles claimed bronze Monday.
 
Gator freshman Anya Pilgrim, representing Barbados, also competed Monday, placing 18^th overall.
 
Pan Am event final are next for DiCello. She competes Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET in the balance beam and floor exercise event finals. 
 


Did You Know?
Kayla DiCello's made some major additions to her trophy case this month. In addition to 2023 Pan American Games team and all-around gold, DiCello also won gold on Oct. 4 as alternate on U.S.'s 2023 World Championships team.
 
About the Gators in 2023 Pan Am Games:
DiCello earned five All-America honors and was the 2023 Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year. She announced in April that she would take a gap year to pursue a berth on the 2024 U.S. Olympic roster. Pilgrim is a freshman on the Gators' 2024 team.
