A dozen Gators earn a spot on the 2023 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll.
Gator Gymnasts Place 12 on SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – An even dozen Gator gymnasts earned a spot on the 2023 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, announced today by league commissioner Greg Sankey.
The 12 from Florida's 2023 SEC title team who appear on the league's academic honor roll is one away from the program record. Student-athletes must be a sophomore or complete a full academic year at the institution to be included in the SEC Academic Honor Roll. The program record of 13 was set in 2020 and matched in 2022.
Graduate Leah Clapper turned in a 4.0 grade point average in graduate classes, as she scheduled to earn her second master's degree this summer. She is 2021 and 2022 selection to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America At-Large team.
Trinity Thomas, the 2023 SEC Gymnast of the Year, makes her fourth appearance on the SEC Academic Honor Roll as she receives her master's degree in Health Education & Behavior next week.
The 2023 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2022 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.
To be recognized to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
