Sweden Youth National Team Talent Liwa Nilsson Joins Gator Soccer

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida soccer adds Sweden Youth National Team striker Liwa Nilsson to the 2023 Gator roster.
Nilsson brings international experience with Sweden's youth national teams and also plays with Västerås BK 30 of Division I Mellersta.
"We are excited to add Liwa to our incoming class this fall. Her experience with the youth national team in Sweden along with her club team will help her transition to the SEC quickly. She adds some important talent to our attacking front line with both her pace and technical abilities. Scoring goals is arguably the hardest skill in soccer and she's shown this ability consistently in Sweden," Bohon said. "Off the field, Liwa has been a wonderful person throughout this process. Nilsson brings the number of freshman on the 2023 roster to 12. They add to the six transfers joining the Gators this fall.

· Ascended to Sweden Under-19 National Team after competing for U17 team.
· Scored in 62 seconds after making Sweden National Team debut versus Finland in October 9, 2019
· Scored Sweden's only goal in extra minutes action in 1-1 tie with Finland in 2021 U17 play
· One of youngest members of Västerås BK 30 of Division I Mellersta. Joined club in fall of 2018 after previously playing with Barkarö SK
