Gators Returns to Elite Competition Saturday at U.S. Core Hydration Classic

Two 2023 Gator All-Americans – Kayla DiCello and Leanne Wong - return to elite competition Saturday at the U.S. Core Hydration Classic. The session that includes the Gator All-American duo and Florida signee Skye Blakely airs live at 8 p.m. ET Saturday on CNBC.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - A trio with current and future Gator gymnastics ties compete Saturday at the 2023 Core Hydration Classic in Chicago, Ill.

Rising junior Leanne Wong  joins 2023 Gator teammate Kayla DiCello and UF signee Skye Blakely in the U.S. Classic's second session. That session airs live Saturday on CNBC at 8 p.m. ET.

Saturday's competition is Wong's first elite competition since winning 2022 World Championships gold with Team USA on Nov. 1, 2022. Wong is the defending U.S. Classic all-around, vault and balance beam champion.

DiCello, who announced at the conclusion of the 2023 collegiate season she would take a gap year to pursue a spot on the 2024 U.S. Olympic team, made her return to elite competition earlier this summer at the American Classic.

Eight days after winning gold with Team USA at the 2022 World Championships, Blakely signed a national letter of intent in November of 2022. She will defer enrollment at UF until fall of 2024 as she seeks a spot on U.S. roster for Paris Olympics.
