Leanne Wong found triple gold in her first return to elite competition since her double medal performance at the 2021 World Gymnastics Championships in October.

Wong won U.S. Classic all-around and balance beam plus shared the vault title in the event held Saturday at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake Valley, Utah. She is the first woman in history to follow an NCAA season by winning the U.S. Classic.

"I want to take from this experience and learn from my mistakes. I know there is still some work to do," Wong told CNBC announcer Laurie Hernandez following Saturday evening's performance.

Next up is the U.S. Championships in Tampa's Amalie Arena. Wong will be joined by another Gator, incoming freshman
Kayla DiCello, in the Senior Women competition that opens on Friday, Aug. 19 (7 p.m.) and closes on Sunday, Aug. 21 (7 p.m.).
DiCello is coming off winning floor exercise at the Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on July 15.
