FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Florida Gators Men's and Women's Track & Field programs recorded countless strong performances on Day 1 of the Razorback Invitational which concluded with a new school record in the Women's Distance Medley Relay.
The quartet of Elise Thorner (Leg 1 - 1200m), Laila Owens (Leg 2 - 400m), Jess Edwards (Leg 3 - 800m) and Flomena Asekol (Leg 4 - 1600m) completed the 4000m race in 10:52.06 courtesy of splits of 3:19.87, 52.49, 2:05.66 and 4:34.05, respectively. The team snapped the previous record by over five seconds.

GATORS GO BACK TO BACK IN MEN'S 200M
Robert Gregory and Wanya McCoy finished first and second in the Men's 200m behind times of 20.40 and 20.46. Gregory has now placed first overall in this event for two consecutive meets and holds the fastest time in the NCAA. For McCoy his time not only stands as a personal best but places him seventh on Florida's Indoor All-Time Top 10 list, sets a new Bahamian National Record and is fifth in the NCAA.
CLEMONS CLAIMS FOURTH BEST MARK IN SCHOOL HISTORY
Just as Malcolm Clemons did at the McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational, the redshirt-junior from Oakland, California, placed first in the Men's Long Jump. He did so while setting a new indoor personal record and claiming the fourth best mark on Florida's Indoor All-Time Top 10 List. Clemons obtained these accolades courtesy of a 8.06m (26'5.5") mark which stands as the second best in the nation.
MONTGOMERY SETS SECOND CONSECUTIVE PR
Montgomery recorded a new personal record for the second consecutive meet, topping her time of 23.11 at the McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational with a new record of 23.00. Montgomery's finish places her fourth on Florida's Indoor All-Time Top 10 list.
BRYANT FINISHES AS TOP COLLEGIAN IN LONG JUMP
Thanks to a mark of 6.56m (21'6.25"), Claire Bryant finished as the top collegian (second overall) in the Women's Long Jump.
THORNER RECORDS TWO PRS IN FOUR EVENTS OF HEPTATHLON
Oliver Thorner recorded personal records in both the 60m and Long Jump while competing in the Men's Heptathlon, recording marks of 7.16 and 6.98m (22'10.75") respectively.
