GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 2/3 ranked Florida men's and women's swim team secured their first sweep of the New Year, downing SEC opponent South Carolina on Friday afternoon inside the O'Connell Center Natatorium.

The men's team came away with a 164-93 victory to remain undefeated (6-0) on the season, while the women secured their third SEC win of the season with a 175-82 win and improve to 6-1 on the season.
Â
The Florida women remain a perfect 20-0 in all-time series against the Gamecocks, while the men extended their series lead to 23-2.

After honoring the senior swimmers prior to the meet, the Gators placed first in every event except one with senior
Isabel Ivey leading the way with three individual first-place finishes.

Women's 400 Medley Relay
Florida secured the top-two spots in the first event of the meet. The relay team of
Bella Sims,
Anna Moore,
Isabel Ivey and
Emma Weyant swam a 3:37.68 to take first to edge out their teammates
Catie Choate,
Molly Mayne,
Lainy Kruger and
Micayla Cronk who finished in second with 3:38.97.

Men's 400 Medley Relay
The A relay team of A Team of
Adam Chaney,
Julian Smith,
Scotty Buff and
Macguire McDuff breezed to a first place finish with a 3:11.28 time to finish ahead of
Jonny Marshall,
Raphael Rached Windmuller,
Jace Crawford and
Jake Mitchell's 3:16.48.

Women's 1,000 Freestyle
The Gators went 1-2-3 with
Caroline Pennington (9:50.93) claiming first place, finishing eight seconds ahead of
Camille DeBoer's 9:58.95.
Madison Kolessar touched the wall in 10:03.34, while senior
Leah DeGeorge swam a 10:04.25.

Men's 1,000 Freestyle
Senior
Jack VanDeusen celebrated senior day with a first-place victory, swimming a 9:09.05 for a season high.
Josh Parent clocked a 9:14.19 for third place, while
Oskar Lindholm came away with a fifth-place finish of 9:25.85.

Women's 200 Freestyle
Micayla Cronk recorded a b-cut time of 1:45.65 to finish in first place, just ahead of
Ekaterina Nikonova's 1:47.49.
Lainy Kruger earned third place with after recording a 1:48.96 time.

Florida went 1-2-3 with
Mason Laur leading the way in first. He posted a 1:38.42 to edge out teammate
Eric Brown who followed closely with 1:38.59.
Jonny Marshall was not far behind in third after swimming a 1:39.19.

Sophomore
Zoe Dixon claimed victory after she clocked a 54.20 to finished just ahead of Aris Runnel's 54.60.
Carly Meeting recorded a third-place time of 55.35

Three Gators finished in the top-five, as
Scotty Buff swam to a second-place victory in 48.42. Cam Abaqueta was right behind in third with a 48.88 time and
Caleb Maldari posted a 49.76 for fifth.

Florida went 1-2-3 with
Isabel Ivey securing her first individual victory of the afternoon after clocking a 1:01.66.
Anna Moore went 1:03.16 for second, followed closely by
Grace Rainey's 1:03.68

Peter Bretzmann claimed top spot after touching the wall in 55.24.
Raphael Rached Windmuller earned fourth after swimming a 56.04 and senior

Emma Weyant cruised to first place after posting a b-cut time of 1:58.87.
Amanda Ray came in second after posting a b-cut time of her own, 1:59.09. Senior
Elise Bauer touched the wall in 2:05.30.

Joaquin Pinero Gonzalez 's 1:47.55 put him in first place with
Billy Jones coming in second with a 1:49.72.
Andrew Taylor secured third after clocking a 1:49.72.

The top-two spots went to Florida as
Olivia Peoples recorded a 23.14 for first place. Freshman
Bella Sims was right behind in second with 23.30 and
Carly Meeting finished in sixth after swimming a 24.02.

Adam Chaney celebrated his senior-day celebration with a first-place time of 20.42. In a closely-contested event,
Jace Crawford came away with third after registering a 20.72 and
Daniel Gordon posted a 21.05 for fifth.

Bella Sims earned her first individual victory of the day after touching the wall in 49.49, just in front
Ekaterina Nikonova's 50.17.
Lilly Daley finished in fifth with a 51.99 time.

Edouard Fullum-Huot coming out on top after cruising to a 44.47 to edge out

The Gators have the week off before traveling to Ocala, Fla on Friday, Jan. 26 for a dual meet against in-state foe, Florida State. Action begins at noon ET, while Diving remains at home against Florida State. The senior divers will be celebrating prior to first dive.
