No. 3/3 Florida Swim & Dive Open SEC Competition with Sweep over Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 3/3 Florida swimming and diving teams opened SEC competition with a sweep over No.7/10 Georgia on Friday afternoon inside Gabrielsen Natatorium.
Men: No. 3 Florida – 172.5 | No. 7 Georgia – 127.5
Women: No. 3 Florida – 158 | No. 10 Georgia – 142
As a program, the Gators totaled 15 first-place finishes in the 28 scored swimming events, and posted nine total NCAA B-cut times. The men tallied wins in both the 200Y medley relay (1:25.74) and the 400Y free relay (2:53.66), while having four individual swimmers place first in at least one of their events. On the women's side, five swimmers recorded individual wins on Friday, while earning first in the 200Y medley relay after going 1:38.44.
Florida Men:
The Gators swept the diving portion of Friday's meet, as Peyton Donald set the program's new 1-meter record after scoring 382.95. The junior finished in the top-three in both springboard events, placing first in the 1-meter with his program record and third on the 3-meter with 370.88. Sophomore Conor Gesing's 395.93 3-meter score was good for first, and his 333.53 1-meter score earned him fourth overall. Fellow Gator sophomore Camyla Monroy swept the women's events to remain undefeated so far this season. She scored a 296.03 on the 1-meter, while posting a career-high 361.43 on the 3-meter. Diving captain Casey Greenberg finished third in both the 1-meter (257.48) and 3-meter (277.73)
Series History:
The Gators return to Athens on Nov. 20 for the Mid-season Georgia Invitational. The three-day invite runs through Nov. 22 with prelims starting at 9:30 a.m. ET and finals at 5:30 p.m. ET inside Gabrielsen Natatorium. Florida swept last years Invitational, as the men's team scored 453.5 points and the women's team finished with 357.0 points.

Florida Men:
- Senior Julian Smith had a strong performance against the Bulldogs, taking the top spot in his two individual events as well as was a member of both winning relay teams. The St. Augustine, Fla. native touched the wall in the 100Y breaststroke with a B-cut time of 52.93, while earning first in the 100Y free after swimming a 43.39. He swam the second leg in both relays, clocking a 23.93 butterfly split in the 200Y medley and a 43.14 split in the 400Y free relay.
- Junior Ed Fullum-Huot was a member of both winning relay teams as well, leading off the 400Y Free relay with a 44.80 split and anchoring the 200y medley with a 19.36 free split. He also grabbed a win in the 50y free with a time of 19.78.
- Junior Aleksas Savickas and Aiden Norman posted a pair of wins on Friday as well, with Savickas taking the top spot in the 200Y breast (1:58.47) and Norman going 1:44.48 in the 200y back.
- Olympic silver medalist Josh Liendo earned B-cut times in the 100y fly (46.31) and in the 200Y fly (1:43.51)
- Senior Mason Laur also had a b-cut time in the 200Y fly, after swimming a 1:44.69
- Sophomore Catie Choate showed out in her home state, grabbing two B-cut times in both of her individual events. The Narcross, Ga. native turned in a time of 52.82 in the 100Y back, while posting a 1:54.86 in the 200Y back. Additionally, Choate was the leadoff in Florida's winning relay team, recording a 25.01 backstroke split.
- Senior Emma Weyant also tallied two individual wins, while earning a B-cut time of 4:08.90 in the 400Y IM. The two-time Olympic medalist also scored nine points in the 200Y breast (2:14.50).
- On top of being members of the first-place relay team, senior Olivia Peoples and sophomore Molly Mayne posted one individual win a piece. Peoples clocked a b-cut time of 53.20 in the 100Y fly, while swimming a 23 flat as the third leg in the medley. Mayne swam a 1:02.85 in the 100y breast, and went 27.72 in the breast leg of the medley relay.
- Fifth Year Julia Heimstead earned first in the 200Y fly after touching the wall in 1:59.09.
- Senior Mabel Zavaros went 4:13.81 in the 400Y IM to record a b-cut time in the event.
