Gators on Tour: Week 20

Horschel finishes T-8 at Valhalla
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Billy Horschel continues what has been a resurgent season notching a top-10 finish at the PGA Championship.

PGA Tour Golfers
Three former Gators Billy Horschel (T-8), Alejandro Tosti (T-73) and Camilo Villegas (Cut) competed in the second major of the season.

Horschel earned his second best major finish of his career after an 8 under outing at Valhalla. His best finish came in the 2013 U.S. Open when he finished T-4. Horschel's weekend was headlined by a 7-under-par 64 on Sunday which is good for his best single round in a major. The class of 2009 graduate made 101 feet of putts to go along with his SG Putting total of 6.643 (both statistics ranked fifth among the field). Horschel qualified for the PGA Championship after his win in the Corales Puntacana Championship.

Horschel continues to move up the FedEx Cup rankings currently sitting at No. 40 with 764 points. The top-70 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings at the end of the season will make the FedEx Cup playoffs which features three tournaments with the field getting smaller each weekend. Horschel won the Tour Championship in 2014.

Tosti competed in the first major championship of his career, shooting even par. The first year PGA Tour member shot three rounds under par which included one eagle and 14 birdies. Tosti also turned heads after driving the island green on Valhalla's signature hole No. 13. The former Gator would go on to make his 7-foot eagle putt.

Korn Ferry Tour Golfers
The Gators were well represented in Kansas City this weekend with Ricky Castillo (T-30), Fred Biondi (T-70), Yuxin Lin (Cut) and T.J. Vogel  (Cut) all in the field.

Castillo played the best of the group, finishing 11 under for a T-30 finish. This week his driver was on full display with an average driving distance of 311.2 yards (10th best) with his longest drive coming in at 357 yards (16th best).
