INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – With only two more days left of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials, four Gators have officially booked their plane ticket to Paris. Following last night's finals session, Team USA announced that Emma Weyant has been confirmed to the team after her second-place finish in the 400m IM. It marks her second Olympic Games and the first female Gator to make the 2024 Olympic Team.
Caeleb Dressel continued to impress on Friday, competing in the 50m free final and the 100m fly semifinal. He advanced in his first individual event Friday night, crashing into the wall in 21.41 for the Olympic Trial's 50m freestyle's title. Additionally, he advanced to the men's 100m fly finals after taking first in the semifinals.
Joining the seven-time Olympic gold medalist was Adam Chaney, who became a household name in the swimming world following Thursday's night 50m free semifinals. Chaney and Jonny Kulow forced a second swim-off Thursday night after tying in their first. On the women's side, Isabel Ivey and Zoe Dixon represented Florida in the 200m IM Semifinals.
Overall, eight Florida swimmers competed on day six: Anna Auld, Adam Chaney, Zoe Dixon, Caeleb Dressel, Billy Jones, Caroline Pennington and incoming freshman Sofia Plaza.
At the U.S. Olympic Diving Trials in Knoxville, Tenn., Casey Greenberg advanced to the women's platform final for a chance to punch her own ticket to Paris.

OLYMPIC QUALIFYING TIMES:
For individual events at the Paris Games, there are two types – Olympic Qualifying Time (OQT) and Olympic Consideration TIME (OCT), per World Aquatics. Swimmers who match or better the OQT in one or more individual events, qualify for Olympic competition automatically. Participating countries may enter two (2) athletes in the same event, only if both swimmers' times are equivalent or under the OQT. The OCT threshold works differently. Should the OQT not yield a quota of 852 total swimmers, "World Aquatics will then invite athletes who have equaled or bettered an OCT, until the total quota of 852 athletes is reached."
Swimming at the 2024 Olympic Games will be held at the Paris La Defense Arena, located in the city of Nanterre. Indoor swimming kicks off July 27 and runs through August 4; in total, 35 medal events will be competed. Olympic swimming competition concludes with the men's and women's open water (10km marathon swimming) races taking place August 8-9. The full Team USA roster for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 will be confirmed in July.
