
Cross Country Returns to Missouri for Pre-National Invitational

The Gators make their way back to the Gans Creek course for their last race before the postseason
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators make their way back to Columbia, Mo. for their last regular season meet at the Pre-National Invitational on Oct. 17. The women will take the course for the 6k race at 10 a.m. with the men's 8k to follow at 10:45 am.
Eight men and nine women will suit up for the Orange and Blue, 12 of whom return to the course from the Gans Creek Classic.
The women's 6k will feature Judy Chepkoech and Desma Chepkoech, who both return after top ten finishes in their last showing in Columbia. Additionally, two freshmen look to make their collegiate debut in Isobelle Jones and Claire Stegall, as Reagan Gilmore returns to the line for the first time since the UNF Invite.
The men's 8k brings back Kelvin Cheruiyot for his second race of the season after his standout debut in the Gans Creek Classic. Five more Gators return for their third consecutive meet of the season, as Alejandro de Bastos returns since the UNF Invite.
Results for the Pre-Nationals Invitational will be available on PrimeTime Timing with live broadcasting available on SECN+.

The Gators last showing in Columbia saw the women's team walk away with a first place team title at the Gans Creek Classic, as four of Florida's five scorers placed in the top ten. Judy Chepkoech made her Gators debut, finishing first for the Orange and Blue and just seventh overall.
In the men's realm, Cheruiyot led the Gators in his NCAA debut with a 23:02.1 finish in the 8k, placing 16th overall. Florida's men posted a 23rd place team finish, tallying 609 points.
