
No. 3 Gators Host FGCU On Wednesday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 3 Florida softball team (18-1) returns to Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on Wednesday evening for a midweek tilt against FGCU.
First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on SEC Network+ with Sydney Littlejohn Watkins and Kyle Crooks on the call.
Ryan Urquhart and Marty Pallman will give an audio-only call of the action on FloridaGators.com.
The Gators are coming off a 5-0 weekend at the Sun Devil Classic in Arizona.
Florida recorded victories over New Mexico State, California Baptist, Arizona State, GCU and Iowa State, outscoring its opponents 62-9.
In their Feb. 23 match up against the Cyclones, the Gators set three new single-game program records in runs scored (24), hits (22) and RBI (23).
NOTABLES:
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a baby gator button, the second giveaway in this season's Florida softball button series

- Freshman Taylor Shumaker is tied for No. 1 in the nation in home runs hit this season (10), which is also tied for fifth-most hit by a freshman in program history. Brittany Schutte (2010) owns the Florida freshman record at 19
- Junior Kenleigh Cahalan was named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. She is the second Gator to earn the honor this season - Taylor Shumaker won the award on Feb. 11
- Florida's offense ranks No. 1 in the NCAA in hits (186), RBI (163), runs (176) and sacrifice flies (12), No. 2 in home runs (34), on-base percentage (.486), doubles (36), slugging percentage (.702) and scoring (9.26), No. 3 in walks (85) and No. 5 in stolen bases (44)
- The Gators have recorded 10 run-rule victories, including in all four of their previous in-state matchups this season vs. North Florida, USF, Jacksonville and Stetson
