Fifteen Swimmers Qualify for Men’s NCAA Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Fifteen swimmers from the fourth-ranked Florida men's swimming and diving team qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, the Committee announced Wednesday.
The championships will be held March 26-29 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington. Washington State University will serve as the host.
Eric Brown, Scotty Buff, Ed Fullum-Huot, Mason Laur, Josh Liendo, Gio Linscheer, Caleb Maldari, Jonny Marshall, Jake Mitchell, Alexander Painter, Josh Parent, Aleksas Savickas and Julian Smith are the 15 swimmers that will represent Florida in 30 events at this year's championships. Swimmers qualified for the championships by meeting the established minimum time for the events they entered.
The Gators also qualified five relays, with the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 800 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay all hitting the qualifying standard. Relay lineups will be determined before the championships. Florida heads to Washington with the fastest 400 medley and 800 free relays.
Florida's 15 swimmers are the third-most by any school to qualify for this year's championships, sitting only behind Cals' and Texas' 18.
Nine Gators were part of the program's third-place finish at last year's 2024 NCAA Championships. The men totaled 39 All-American Honors en route to five National Titles. Liendo earned Florida's three individual titles after sweeping his individual events, winning the 50 Free, 100 Free and 100 Fly to become one of six in NCAA Men's Swimming Championships history – and first since 1996 - to win three individual titles and swim on at least two championship relays teams. He was the first to sweep the NCAA 50 and 100 free and 100 fly since Florida's Caleb Dressel in 2017 and 2018.
The 200 medley relay team of Chaney, Smith's, Liendo and McDuff won the title after setting a then-new NCAA, Championship Meet, U.S. Open and Program record with their 1:20.15 time. The four Gators also brought home Florida's third-consecutive 200 free relay title after putting together a 1:13.49.
A total of 270 participants (235 swimmers and 35 divers) will compete in the championships. Swimmers qualified for the championships by meeting the established minimum time for the events in which they entered. Gator Divers Peyton Donald and Conor Gesing qualified this past week in both springboard events, while Jesus Gonazlez punched his NCAA ticket in all three diving events.
ESPN+ will provide live digital coverage for preliminary and finals sessions Wednesday through Saturday. Tape-delayed coverage of the men's championships will be on ESPNU at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Monday, March 31.
