Selena Harris-Miranda SEC Newcomer of the Year; Trio of Gators Claim SEC Honors

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida junior gymnast Selena Harris-Miranda is the Southeastern Conference Newcomer of the Year, the league office announced this afternoon. Harris-Miranda also is among the three Gators on 2025 All-Southeastern Conference or All-Freshman teams.
This is the first year the league recognized a SEC Newcomer of the Year in its annual awards. Harris-Miranda transferred to Florida this summer after competing at UCLA in 2023 and 2024, earning the final Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year honor. At Florida, Harris-Miranda posted the nation's second-highest all-around total (39.875) in the regular-season finale. She turned in three perfect marks this season, which included winning the SEC vault title with a 10.0.
Harris-Miranda and Leanne Wong earned All-SEC honors and Taylor Clark is part of the SEC All-Freshman team. The trio earned league recognition based on their standings in the March 17 Road to Nationals standings.
New this season: All-SEC Criteria - the All-SEC Team is comprised of the gymnasts with the top eight scores (including ties) on each event and in the all-around competition through the regular season based on NQS.

- Season-best 39.75 matched twice is among nation's top seven all-around totals of 2025
- Equaled collegiate balance beam best of 10.0 on Feb. 14 versus Auburn
- Earned 10th perfect mark overall with March 14 floor exercise performance versus Kentucky.
- Matched collegiate bars best of 10.0 to share SEC title. No. 2 all-time for the Gators in total 10.0s with 11.
- Fourth consecutive All-SEC honor
