Jayden Emmanuel to Represent Florida at SEC Leadership Council in Atlanta

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Rising junior soccer goalkeeper Jayden Emmanuel is among five Gators student-athletes set to take part in this year's Southeastern Conference Leadership Council meetings, which begin Thursday in Atlanta.

Attendees from the SEC's 16 schools include representatives from the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Football Leadership Council, Men's and Women's Basketball Leadership Councils. Emmanuel is a 2025-26 UF SAAC & Black Student Athlete Council (BSAC) Executive Board member.
The SEC Student-Athlete Leadership Council provides an opportunity for the league's student-athletes to engage with campus leaders and conference office staff. Leadership councils for football and men's and women's basketball, along with SAAC, provide a conduit of communication to the conference office on issues related to student-athlete experience, student-athlete wellness and playing rules.
Throughout the two-day event, participants will meet with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey to discuss topics including SEC governance structure, legislation and name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities. Student-athletes will also have the opportunity to speak with SEC Chief Medical Officer Catherine O'Neal to learn more about the conference's efforts to keep athletes safe, as well as discuss sport psychology protocols. Other activities will include breakout sessions for the student-athletes' respective leadership councils.
